LOS ANGELES, CA. (August 27, 2024) — Lori’s joined Dignity Health in celebrating a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday, August 20. After a two-year closure, the hospital’s former retail space was refreshed and rebranded, open now as Lori’s Store #663. With Kool & the Gang’s “Celebration” playing in the background, hospital officials and Lori’s team members officially cut the ribbon to welcome a steady stream of medical staff, patients and visitors through the doors.

Lori’s VP of Corporate Development, Chris Gourdal, said, “We’ve had an amazing partnership with the CommonSpirit family for almost 18 years now, and are so excited to be able to offer this refreshed, rebranded retail location.”

The hospital’s Director of Patient Experience, Garrett South, expressed that the opening was well worth the wait, saying “The renewed and refreshed space really does live up to our mission and makes sure that visitors and staff have access to some of their comforts from home.” He said the new store will be able to provide ice cream, dry cleaning services, extended hours, and eventually, payroll deduction.

Hospital President Alina Moran said it was an honor to partner with Lori’s to open the shop, which, she said is centered around creating an environment where staff and visitors can retreat for a respite, grab a snack, and find encouragement in providing care for patients and their loved ones.
